A Study on Craniocervical posture and the range of Cervical Spine motion in Koreans

Abstract
In order to obtain basic data about craniocervical posture for diagnostic aids of the craniomandibular disorder, the author measured, craniocervical posture in frontal, sagittal and horizontal plane with newly developed appliance in 550 men and 550 women. Range of cervical spine motion was also measured with the same object.
The obtained results were as follows.
1. The mean for the angle of head posture in the sagittal plane, horizontal distance from To to Li in the sagittal plane, interclavicular angle in the horizontal plane, cervical spine lateral bending angle were 53.3¢ª, 3.7§¯, 170.0¢ª, 97.7¢ª respectively. There was sinificant difference between two sexes and among 5 age groups for the above mean.
2. The mean for horizontal distance from C7 to To in the sagittal plane, interclavicular angle in the frontal plane, cervical spine rotation were 3.9§¯, 170.0¢ª, 169.5¢ª respectively.
There was significant difference among 5 age groups for the above mean.
3. The mean for clavicular posture in the sagittal plane, deviation of clavicle plane in the frontal plane, deviation of tragal plane in the frontal plane were 33.1¢ª, 2.57§®, 0.35 §® respectively. There was no significant difference between two sexes and among 5 age groups for the above mean.
